How to Defeat Powers of Darkness

Envisioning a scene of chaos. Running, shouting, marching, fighting, looting, violence. Masses out of control. Fear gloating in victory. Hatred having a field day. Revenge stirring emotional rage. Division dancing.

But there is another small scene which no one notices. A small group to the side of the crowd drops to one knee and joins hands under a tree. They cry out softly to the Creator and Sustainer of all life. They surrender to the Spirit of Christ and call for God’s armor against the enemy, the unseen enemy and source of chaos. They call down Heaven to intervene, to bind the spirits of darkness and loose the powers of life and truth.

The Power of Prayer by Danny Hahlbohm

Unseen to human eyes, a swift and massive lightening bolt crashes from Heaven to earth, splintering out in all directions. A ripple of energy bursts out 360 degrees through the tumultuous crowd. Many are blasted, thrown from the scene, yet somehow every human remains standing. The faint smell of singed wings hangs in the air.

For reasons they don’t understand, one at a time, people forget why they were there, emotions quell, find a sudden urge to leave, to go home. The crowd thins. Slowly, peace returns.

Friends, this imaginary scene reflects truth in the unseen. Fear, Hatred, Revenge, Division, and more… these entities are real, they come from Hell, and they hate all of us. They lust for strength and power over us. And they succeed when we ignore and fail to challenge them. They plunge their talons into our minds and make us their avatars to carry out plans of darkness on earth.

The power of only a few surrendered believers praying is a force unstoppable!

Again I say to you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:19-20

This kind only goes out by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:29

Believers, find each other, whether through text, phone, social media… and pray together for the enemies of God to be defeated in America. For reason and hope to return. For repentance to blanket all sides of faith and ideology in our land. Fast one meal, one day, or more as able, to ramp up to maximum spiritual power!

To that end, and in closing, let’s pray together now:

Father in Heaven, we praise Your mighty, holy name! Lord, we surrender ourselves now completely to Your Spirit. Fill us and use us to accomplish Your purposes in Your land.

God, Your enemies are being allowed to win in many lives, in many cities right now. Please bind those demons of Rage, Hatred, Revenge, Fear, Destruction, Violence and all of their accompanying partners away from this land.

Holy One, release from Heaven Your Spirit of peace, conviction, gentleness, reason, forgiveness, love and unity. Only You can restore what the locusts have eaten in this land. Change hearts, bring repentance leading to faith in great numbers. Send revival, a great harvest of souls that spreads worldwide.

We thank you, Jesus, for giving us everything. We call on You now to help us give all of ourselves to You. May You receive all the glory in victory! We trust You. Amen.

The Power Of Prayer by Lester Kern

Be blessed, people of God. Trust Him. There is a reason and a purpose, and He is always on your side. Peace to the followers of Jesus.

  1. This is from What Saith the Scripture:

    A Wall of Fire

The current fighting in Central Africa is a regional war which now involves eight African countries. Last summer it spilled over into Congo where American Baptist Missionaries have remained. The genocide and senseless killings in some areas have occurred so often that many in the Western world have become immune to the tragedy in this part of Africa. But God’s people have been praying and He responds in sometimes miraculous ways. The following story did not make the evening news.

Tutsi soldiers had broken down the door of a young pastor’s house and stood poised to slaughter by machine gun fire, him and his entire family right where they sat. Their intent was to massacre the civilians in this Hutu village. “Wait! the young man implored, would you not allow my family and I a moment to pray before we die? I can almost picture the sneers on the face of these soldiers as they watched this family, an African couple and their young children soberly kneel, arm in arm, in a circle on the floor and pray to God for mercy. The remarkable thing is that the expected shots never came. After praying, the family slowly stood up and saw that the soldiers were gone, not only out of their house but away from their village as well. It was not until several months later they found out just what had happened.

At a church meeting in another town where Christians from both sides had gathered to pray, this young pastor told his story and the seemingly miraculous way in which the soldiers “just disappeared from his house and village.”

“I think I can explain,” came a quiet voice from the back of the room… spoken by one of the Tutsi soldiers who had been there that fateful day. “You see,” said the soldier, “I was there when we broke into your house. I was one who had your children lined up in my rifle site as you kneeled and prayed… when suddenly a wall of fire, fierce and ferocious, jumped up and surrounded the lot of you. We couldn’t even see beyond the flames. Due to the intense heat and fire, we knew the house would burn down so we fled. When we went outside and saw your home consumed by fire and yet not destroyed, we fled the village as well. Later I realized that this was not the type of fire we are familiar with but a fire sent by God. If this is how your God responds, I want to know Him too! I am tired of the fighting and the killing… this is why I came tonight.”

Miracles abound in war torn Central Africa. Prayer is, and will always be, the only response to the tragedies and crises in our lives.

A mighty fortress is our God…

“For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a Wall Of Fire round about, and will be the Glory in the midst of her”
    (Zechariah 2:5).
