Today, I had the strangest dream. When I woke, I realized it wasn’t the first time I’d dreamed it. But, I had no idea what it meant until my savvy husband identified a cliche, or idiom, demonstrated within it.
Here is the dream: I had a tiny stack of hay attached to my thigh above the knee. The strands were bound on one end, loose on the other. I was told in the dream that it was to ward off Coronavirus, COVID-19.
Waking, I realized I’d had the same dream more than once before, I just didn’t remember it as clearly until today. Also, I had no idea what to make of it.
When I told my husband, he identified an idiom immediately. He said, “that reminds me of the saying, ‘make hay while the sun shines‘.” Then he said, “Did you know the task force came out with a report that being in the sun and heat may help stop Coronavirus?”
I sat in momentary stunned silence and thought, well, of course they have.
As I write, it occurs to me there is a second idiom within this dream! “Cut it off at the knees.” And, there was additional symbolism.
The hay was bound in the dream in such a way as to appear to have a little crown on one end and tentacles on the other. It is reminiscent of a story recently published about the 7-year old boy in Texas who dreamed about Coronavirus being represented by a plant-like virus with a crown and tentacles strangling the world.
Corona means crown. Note that in my dream, the plant was not live, but dead, already cut and bound.
Instead of saying it straight out, the Holy Spirit had used symbolism of a dead, crowned plant intertwined with two cliches: “Make hay while the sun shines to cut it off at the knees!” So, in full interpretation, Holy Spirit was saying, “The sun will help stop the spread of Coronavirus.”
The Lord was just waiting for someone to figure out the puzzle. I love how He communicates, clever, always current, and intriguing. He is flat brilliant.
My husband isn’t so bad, either. Think I’ll keep him.
While looking for a verse to encourage you today, look at this interesting passage in light of today’s dream!
Psalm 72:16-18 (NKJV)
16 There will be an abundance of grain in the earth,
On the top of the mountains;
Its fruit shall wave like Lebanon;
And those of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17 His name shall endure forever;
His name shall continue as long as the sun.
And men shall be blessed in Him;
All nations shall call Him blessed.
18 Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,
Who only does wondrous things!
God bless all of you. If He took so much effort to share this message, perhaps we should indeed listen to the studies that say the sun is our friend in the battle against COVID-19! So, get out and enjoy it wherever you are able!
And blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things!
God is good. Jesus is wonderful. Peace.
