My friends, please join me tonight in asking for an end to violence and a return of peace to America.
I’ve not heard a single person in our land react in anything but horror and sorrow for George Floyd. Everyone I know, watch, and read condemns what happened to him and wants swift justice for those who killed him.
But, more violence is not the answer to the problems in our nation. Hurting other people, and destroying primarily other minorities’ properties and businesses only hurts the very communities already vulnerable.
Vengeance belongs to the Lord.
This land needs revival. Fear, hatred, and violence are bubbling over out of control. And hear this: their source is hell, not justice.
Those who live in fear, seeking vigilante justice, do not trust the Lord to avenge them.
It is God who brings justice, if we will trust Him to do so. We don’t have to trust men, but those who claim to have a relationship with the Lord should trust Him.
King David understood Who was his deliverer and defender. In 2 Samuel, he wrote songs of praise to the Lord declaring this truth. Take a look at 2 Samuel 22 for a glimpse of his faith declaration.
2 Samuel 22:
47 The LORD lives; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
48 It is God that avenges me, and that brings down the people under me,
49 And that brings me forth from my enemies: You also have lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: You have delivered me from the violent man.
50 Therefore I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto Your name.
Let’s pray for our nation today, for the sources of violence to be bound and for the frightened who act out their lack of faith in the Lord to be delivered and brought to salvation.
Lord and Father in Heaven, we praise Your holy name. We love You, surrender to You and invite Your Holy Spirit to fill us now.
Lord, our nation is in distress and chaos in many cities due to the cruel and unjust actions of a few against an unarmed man. Our hearts ache for the loss of his life and the pain of his family. Please comfort them, and bring true justice to the perpetrators.
But, Father, our enemies in hell are using this event to stir up fear, hate, and violence in Your nation, and we ask You now to rise up and deliver America from hell’s attack.
Holy One, arm us in Your spiritual armor, and in the full power of the Holy Spirit, unite us now to say to the enemy: “Hell, retreat from our cities and towns in Jesus’ name! We bind you, Satan, here on earth from keeping violence and hatred raging. The Lord rebuke you! Go back to hell where you belong.
Jesus, please loose Your angelic warriors in Heaven to stand between us and the enemies from hell. Defend Your people and deliver us from Satan’s schemes to divide and conquer us!
This is Your land. We are Your people. Bring Holy, heavenly justice into every place where hell is winning victories.
Lord, protect the peaceful protesters exercising their American rights, and bring those who commit criminal acts not only to justice, but to faith and salvation. Above this, bring communities of every color and creed together to discuss in peace the problems and solutions which foster unity and democracy.
God, please protect the innocent men and women, whether they be citizens, police or government leadership trying to restore peace. Let no more innocent people suffer because of tempers inflamed by hell.
Expose and stop every activist group with impure motives from gathering more people to commit violent and destructive acts.
Bring down in November every political leader who is a pawn of hell’s agenda to destroy America! Bring down those keeping the vulnerable oppressed. Elevate every leader who loves You, governs by Your wisdom, and truly loves the people in their States and districts.
We trust You. You are mighty and stronger than any enemy, seen or unseen! We ask these things in our perfect and amazing Jesus’ name, Amen.
Stay safe, America. Stay in prayer. Remember 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Peace.
