Over three years ago, Michele Bachmann wrote an email appealing to praying friends in effort to redeem the 2020 election through prayer. Thanks to a faithful friend, we obtained a copy of her prayer and published it on Faith and Fasting where it remains to date. At the time, Michele declared, even if we lose, we will know we gave our all on the battlefield (in prayer).
In 2024 America, we are facing mountains of issues. To the point, human instincts may say we should just give up, that it is over. After all, how does one recover jumping off a cliff with no parachute? How does the Titanic keep afloat after scraping the iceberg and bursting with leaks?
Then His Spirit whispers, remember David and Goliath. Recall Esther. Think of Gideon and his 300 warriors who took down an entire Army of thousands after having been promised victory through a dream. Reflect on Mary and Joseph escaping King Herod, Joseph also having been warned in a dream to save their divine baby King. Ponder the disciples fighting decades of odds, giving their lives to successfully get the Gospel message to the world. Anything is possible with God. Matthew 19:26

The Preamble
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Preamble to the Declaration of Independence, 1776
In the late 1800s, Abraham Lincoln would call the Declaration of Independence: “a rebuke and a stumbling-block to the very harbingers of re-appearing tyranny and oppression.”
Lincoln’s divine mission led American citizens to fight and wipe out the scourge of human slavery from the land. He then proclaimed, should we see the elements of tyranny resurrecting, we should take up the fight against it again, “…so that truth, and justice, and mercy, and all the humane and Christian virtues might not be extinguished from the land; so that no man would hereafter dare to limit and circumscribe the great principles on which the temple of liberty was being built.” -Abraham Lincoln, August 17, 1858
Today, we find the same virtues and liberty again in need of defense! This time, our opponents do not target one population, but their aim is to enslave all humans to their will and manipulation. They hate God and His creation. Their methods are deception, division, and destruction of innocence, truth and freedom.
You ask, who are they, where do we aim the fight? The answer and problem is: THEY ARE NOT HUMAN. Oh, humans can be tools in the hands of the devil, but our real enemies are demonic principalities of hell.
Satan’s princes have been permitted to pour into our country in greater strength in recent decades, and every decent foundation of our nation and reasonable freedoms are being etched away, torn down and discarded. For more insight, I recommend Jonathan Cahn’s book, Return of the Gods. That book is a powerful source to wake God’s people and realign us with Biblical understanding of our times.
American believers, I purposely echo Michele Bachmann: It is time to fight with all we’ve got left, in prayer, but this time also WITH FASTING. If we lose, at least we will know we used every last Biblical weapon we had on the spiritual battlefield.
The 2024 election is on all of our minds. My hope and belief is, the will of God WILL be accomplished if we win the war against demonic principalities. When truth is welcomed and promoted once again, we will be set free. (John 8:31) God’s wisdom and justice will overcome every battle if His supernatural opponents are no longer permitted to rule and enslave human minds and hearts.
So, with the examples behind us and the mammoth task ahead, Faith and Fasting posts this first day of January, a spiritual DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. This Declaration is inspired by the courage of our founders, but is more an intermittent conversation with the Lord and plan of action to defeat supernatural tyranny oppressing the U.S. It offers a suggested topical guide with relevant prayers to use all year in 2024 as needed.
From time to time, we may share an update or praise, or occasionally tweak the outline below. We will remind you monthly about fasting and praying for America, but you will already have the basic game plan.
By the way, in January, we are fasting from 6 PM January 1 to 6PM January 2. You are welcome to join us, or freely choose whatever day of the month works for you!

DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE 2024
Vision:
Our ultimate goal is to see TRUTH, HUMILITY, and WISDOM reign in our land, blessing and strengthening generations yet to come.
Mission Statement:
We aim to take down dark spiritual principalities, pharaohs of hell who’ve set up kingdoms in our nation. The plan is to engage the ultimate spiritual weapon given us by Christ Himself: PRAYER WITH FASTING. Matthew 17:21; Mark 9:29
Opening Prayer:
Father in Heaven, You are worthy, holy, pure and perfect. We owe everything to You, worship and adore You! Forgive us our faults and secret sins we’ve long ignored. Cleanse us, fill us with Your Spirit as we yield to You and You alone in the Heavens. Deliver us from evil as we fight in spirit and prayer for this nation. Cover the doorposts for us and those we love with the blood of Jesus. Please keep all You’ve entrusted to us safe and hidden in Your strong tower. Let nothing formed against us prosper! Wake Your people. Grant us wisdom and lead the way. Make Your people ready, cloak us in Your spiritual armor, and make our way perfect. We unite in prayer and fasting and ask You to hear our cry, forgive our sin and heal our land. All for Jesus, and in His name. Amen.

- TRUTH
Psalms 101:7 He that works deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that tells lies shall not linger in my sight.
John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

DECLARATION/PRAYERS FOR TRUTH:
–We, the American family of God, surrender to the Holy Spirit of God and rebuke lies and deception, in Jesus’ name.
-We instead claim truth and honesty for our nation, in the name of Jesus.
-We ask You, Heavenly Father, to release Truth from on high into our land, Your will being done as it is in Heaven, in the name of Jesus!
Father, hear our cry…
- HUMILITY
2 Chron 7:14 If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
1 Peter 5:5-6 …all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God…
DECLARATION/PRAYERS FOR HUMILITY:
-Forgive us, Lord, the invasive pride we’ve not just embraced but draped ourselves in far too long.
-We renounce pride now, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, deliver our nation from the spirit of Pride, in the name of Jesus!
-We welcome and choose humility, taking it as a garment of Christ to clothe ourselves in with gratefulness, in His mighty name, Jesus.
–Father, open America’s servant/leader’s eyes to see what they have done and are doing in Your eyes. Return the reverence of You to them, and repentance, in the name of Jesus.
-Holy One, open all human eyes in this nation to see ourselves as compared to You, and sweep our nation with revival, a return to revere You and repent before You, in the name of Jesus.
Lord, show Your mercy…
- WISDOM
Psalms 51:6 Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being: and in the hidden (Heb: a secret place, to repair) you shall make me to know wisdom.
Psalms 111:10 To revere the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do (revere Him): his praise endures forever.
DECLARATION/PRAYERS FOR WISDOM:
–Father, restore the inherent truth of revering Your name to our people and nation, that You may be restored as the head and heart of our purpose, leadership, and daily life, in the name of Jesus.
-Jesus, forgive us for trusting human wisdom over Your wisdom.
-Lord, please reopen the innermost places long shut in halls of both religious and public servants, and restore wisdom to them, and through them to our people and land, in the name of Jesus.
-We submit ourselves to You, Heavenly Father, ask for filling of Your Spirit and that You outpour wisdom into us and our nation, in the name of Jesus.
Father, strengthen our hands and purify our hearts…
Fear not, for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness. Isaiah 41:10
LET MY PEOPLE GO!
Father, fill us with Your Spirit and lead us now in battle surrounded by Your angels and sheltered in Your armor, in Jesus’ name.

- IDOLATRY
Exo 20:3-6 You shall have no other gods before me! You shall not make idols of anything or anyone, bowing down to them or serving them, for I am the Lord your God, a jealous God who avenges those who hate Me and who shows mercy to those who love me and keep my commandments.
DECLARATION/PRAYERS AGAINST IDOLATRY:
–The Lord rebuke paganism, witchcraft, sorcery, and the occult, in the name of Jesus. Let their works in America be destroyed in Your refining fire. Acts 19:19
-In the power of the Spirit and by the authority of Christ, we release the spiritual fire of God to burn up the idols of this land. Deut. 7:5
-Lord, rebuke addictions to substances, entertainments or ideologies that hinder us, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke paranoia, instability, and double-mindedness, in the name of Jesus. James 1:8
-We choose to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting all things will be added to us. Matt. 6:33
-Father, let Your saints possess this land. Dan 7:22
-Let the scepter, the rule of Your kingdom be released in America! Heb 1:8
-Great Heavenly Father and rightful owner of this nation, overthrow the thrones of darkness and evil kingdoms. Hag 2:22
-Father, open the floodgates of Heaven and send Your warrior angels against the Baals of old who have invaded our nation and set up their ancient pagan kingdoms once again. Take them all down, their deceptions and perversions with them, in the name of Jesus and by His authority.
-Your will be done in America as it is in Heaven!
-Surround us with songs of deliverance! Psalm 32:7
-Let all the inhabitants of the land stand in awe of Him. Psalm 33:8
-Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people He has chosen for His inheritance. Psalm 33:12
- DISHONOR/DISRESPECT
Exo 20:12 Honor your father and mother that your days may be long on the land which the Lord God gave you. (Let’s honor our godly, founding “parents”, as well!)
DECLARATION/PRAYERS AGAINST DISHONOR/DISRESPECT:
–Lord, lead us to forgive anyone who ever hurt, disappointed, abandoned, mistreated, or rejected us – or our ancestors – in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke and we renounce ungodly oaths or vows made by ourselves or our ancestors in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke and we renounce pride, arrogance, egotism, vanity, and rebellion in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke and we renounce selfishness, self-pity, and self hatred in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke disdain of all that is holy in the eyes of God, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke the rejection and disrespect of authority rampant in both our youth and adults, whether toward parents, church leadership, or police and civil authorities, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, cleanse, renew, and make our authorities worthy of respect once again, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, restore respect and honor in our individuals and communities in America, that our days may be long on this land You gave us! Exo 20:12
-The Lord rebuke spirits of mockery and scoffing, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke spirits of hypocrisy, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke and break every curse, every bondage, and every lie spoken or written by agents of Satan against Your anointed leaders, in the name of Jesus. Psa 10:7; 2 Chron 34:24
-Lord, bring blessing in place of every curse spoken against our nation and Your chosen leaders, in the name of Jesus. Neh. 13:2
- MURDER
Exo 20:13 You shall not kill.
DECLARATION/PRAYERS AGAINST MURDER
–In the name of Jesus, we bind every spirit that does not value life, every dark spirit that craves blood and human sacrifice.
-The Lord rebuke and remove murder of the most innocent through abortion and the industries of greed which profit from it, in the authority of the name of Jesus.
-God, forgive us for allowing this scourge on the land to fester so long.
-Lord, rebuke and cast back to hell: violence, cruelty, hatred, rage, resentment, revenge, and bitterness, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and break every curse of death spoken against America by people within or without our nation in the name of Jesus!
-Father, expose and tear down the secrets, lies and conspiracies against American citizens and political opponents, in the name of Jesus.
-Release the Holy Spirit and the warriors of Heaven to burn up the evil spirits, works of darkness and human collusion with them. Psalm 140:10
-Lord, scatter the enemy. Psalm 144:6
-Loose Your angels to guard and protect Your people, in the name of Jesus.
- SEXUAL SIN
Exo 20:14 You shall not commit adultery.
DECLARATION/PRAYERS AGAINST SEXUAL SIN:
–The Lord rebuke lust, immorality, and all perversions of what is good in the eyes of God, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, break down the walls of lies surrounding perversions of Your creation, and get those suffering from these oppressions the help they need to get free, in the name and power of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke and we renounce ungodly soul ties and immoral relationships, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke and bind the viral spread of sexual sin and perversions through internet, media, entertainment and educational systems. Cast those oppressions back to Hell, in the name and power of Jesus.
-We renounce and refuse to call evil good and good evil. Isaiah 5:20
- STEALING/CHEATING
Exo 20:15 You shall not steal.
DECLARATION/PRAYERS AGAINST STEALING AND CHEATING:
–Father, bind and remove in Heaven and on earth the actions of those who perpetually cheat and steal to get ahead, those who plot systemic corruption in secret places, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, expose and destroy the works of those whose aim is to cheat and steal away the identity or resources of others through hacking, scams and fraud, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke all cheating and stealing the will of American citizens away from them, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, expose and destroy every work of the devil and those working for his doomed kingdom to suppress freedom of speech, who cheat lawful citizenship and lawful voting, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and demolish every act of foreign interference or plots to take over America against Your will and divine plan for this nation, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and prevent the use of law enforcement and military by corrupt leaders against the people, for the purpose of suppressing freedoms given us by the founding fathers, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, guard Your nation and people against stealing, cheating, i.e. excessive controls enforced by AI or other non-human means, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and destroy all secret plots in high places to hide or steal away goods and supplies that protect citizens, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and diminish stealing from those who work to redistribute to those who refuse to work, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, protect and preserve resources for the vulnerable innocent, widows and children, as has always been Your way.
- LYING/SLANDER
Exo 20:16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
DECLARATION/PRAYERS AGAINST LYING AND SLANDER:
–Father, rebuke and deliver this nation from a spirit of slander and lies, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, tear down willful ignorance of the truth, in the name of Jesus.
-Separate this nation from the foolishness and immaturity that clings to feelings or emotions over facts, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and turn to dust the lie of mental illness being called normal or good, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, empower and embolden those in noble science fields who have studied human behavior and mental illness and make their voices of truth grow louder and respected again, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke, and we renounce unbelief of the truth, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, refine us and destroy in Your holy fire ungodly thought patterns and belief systems, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and cast back to hell wicked corruption and divisiveness of false charges against Your people, and against Your chosen leaders, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, rebuke and ruin the deceiver and deceptions from hell in high and low places in America, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, dethrone every principality of hell in our nation, and kick them out of our land, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, seal our spiritual borders after cleansing us from evil, build around us a godly hedge of protection and the oil of Your Spirit to keep evil from pouring right back in, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, expose and strip away the power of any and all humans within or without America who’ve partnered with hell’s plans for her, in the name of Jesus.
-Devour, Lord, the rotten root as stubble and chaff, that their reward would become dust because they despised Your wisdom. Isaiah 5:24

- COVETING/ENVY
Exo 20:17 You shall not covet ANYTHING that belongs to your neighbor.
PRAYERS AGAINST ENVY AND COVETOUSNESS:
–Father, forgive us Your people for envy and greed of anything others possess, in the name of Jesus.
-The Lord rebuke, and we renounce, envy, greed, jealousy, and covetousness, in the name of Jesus.
God, break the strongholds of coveting, jealousy, envy and greed off of every community in this nation, in the name of Jesus.
-Father, expose and destroy promises of false equality as a way to shame, manipulate, steal power or control, in the name of Jesus.
-Lord, remove every lie of tyranny that appeals to people’s tendency to envy and covet, in the name of Jesus.
-God, expose and turn to dust the corrupt plans of those who lust for power, covet what others possess, and are jealous of the blessing of wealth You’ve given the nation that belongs to You, in the name of Jesus.
-Please, Father, expel false and divisive ideologies surrounding racial issues and the envy at the heart of those narratives, in the name of Jesus.
Father, fill us anew with Your precious Spirit and restore to Your people and America a spirit of wise generosity, with plans that free people, not further enslave them, in the name of Jesus.
Father, inspire hope again and a healthy work ethic in our nation, brilliant ideas from Your heart that work to improve the lives of our citizens in every State and township, in the name of Jesus.
Lord, remove from halls of power all who walk in the ways of the broken and tormented ideologies from hell. Replace them with Your chosen servants of the people who will restore Truth, Humility, and Wisdom to our land, in the name of Jesus.
If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chron 7:14
