Greetings Readers, we hope you are having a blessed Spring. It is that time again, the first of the month, for a 24-hour fast and prayerful focus on America.
Admittedly, this year has been harder to stay positive. While we still support the current administration, our frequent readers know we are discouraged with some global activities and inner workings being revealed in recent months.
It makes one wonder if there are any truly trustworthy leaders left in the world with enough power and support to make real, lasting change. Is anyone else noticing it would seem the globe runs on corruption, greed, bribery, and on more demonic activity than we ever imagined in our youth?
Maybe we should not be surprised. We were warned in God’s Word the devil is the prince of the power of the air on earth. Remember, his evil is not new, it is older than humanity. The bad we are freshly seeing has always been on earth.
God knows the airwaves transmit all of the corruption, through internet and cell networks, to name the most obvious. One doesn’t have to delve far into internet or streaming services to find lies, perversion, selfishness, paganism, violence and every variety of demonic activity masquerading as innocence. Worse, there is so much now not even pretending to be innocent.
If all of hell’s deceptions and nonsense are literally in the air around us at all times (piped into our eyes and ears through bluetooth, phones and screens), no wonder it is hard to stay pure and innocent in this world. We walk in a cloud of information, much of it evil, swirling around us all the time.
Paul’s statement, “we see through a glass dimly now”, feels even more poignant and true today. All the more reason to hold onto Jesus and to seek Him on behalf of His people and our nation. In this fog of hell, we don’t see everything clearly, but He does.
Let us suggest just a few prayer points, and when you fast and pray, add your own as God gives you wisdom, too.
Prayer Points for May:
—THE WILL OF GOD. The biggest thing we could ask is for “the will of God to be done” in America, “as it is in Heaven”. Our plans, and those of our leaders no matter who they are, pale in comparison to the plans of our wise Creator.
May His will be done against ALL odds. May His will be done to the frustration of all hostile or ignorant schemes. May revival sweep the nation for a great harvest of souls into God’s Kingdom through Christ. In Jesus’ name!
—TRUTH. Today, we lift up America and ask the Father for truth to be honored and protected, for freedom of speech to be saved (now actively eroding in America as our leaders attempt to further enact laws suppressing certain speech the government deems offensive or harmful – to make it worse they are working to outlaw speech that offends one particular foreign nation, which is absurd).
Please ask for protection over those who speak truth and fight for freedom on podcasts and other forums. Their lives and livelihoods are threatened for it. Pray for the owners of vast, social networks to keep protections on freedom of speech. Without it, we are helpless to fight corruption from spreading.
Pray that any person or group whose naive or deceptive actions demand suppression of speech will be diminished in America. May they fall away from power and influence. May Truth rise up and be embraced, that our nation be set free.
—LIFE. The heart of our Creator beats for human life. From conception to the grave, no matter where a person is born or resides, God loves human life. Please pray for our nation and its leaders to realize we are responsible for every life cost by ill-conceived policies, from abortion all the way to lives we kill in unnecessary wars, and everything in-between where crime and abuse are ignored.
—FAMILY OF GOD. Please pray the leaders of America work for better relations with other Christian nations and drop old prejudices of nations which no longer deserve disdain. Pray the nations expressly non-Christian would diminish in power and influence over America, taking care we still work to maintain good relations and to be helpful to them in ways that do not hurt us.
Pray America would place a higher priority on protecting Christian citizens round the world in every country, and to confront the nations persecuting or harming God’s people everywhere.
Thank you for your big heart and care for America, readers. You are a reflection of Your Father’s heart. His people have always loved their land(s). He values our sacrifice of prayer and fasting to protect and cherish the land where so many of His family dwells.
May the peace and presence of the Lord Jesus Christ be your greatest blessing today.
