Personal Update and Eric Metaxas/Jonathan Cahn Video

Wonderful readers of Faith and Fasting, I pray you have had a blessed Christmas Season. Please let me thank you sincerely for faithfully following me through thick and thin. This year has been so up and down. Just a few highlights on a personal note:

An Aunt was diagnosed with cancer in January. A sister-in-law was diagnosed with cancer in June. We house hunted in another State for months and finally bought a house in the craziest seller’s market we’ve seen in our lifetime. It really was a God thing – we almost gave up and then were blessed with just the perfect house for us at the last second. Isn’t that His way?

We moved to a new State, not to mention we are all in the 2nd full year of a global pandemic following the most contentious political year(s) in America. We had two family members die of Covid.

OH, and then our son came down with Covid! We had a very scary 10 days until he turned the corner and overcame it. Praise the Lord, and we are grateful to every friend and family member who prayed for him.

Friends, to say we are drained is an understatement. Sometimes I feel like saying, will everyone just let me lay here on the floor for awhile to recover from this year? Ha ha. But, seriously.

I know I’m not the only one. In different ways, we are all stressed and exhausted. Simply put, life has been extra hard in recent years, and we are all ready for a break, for some return to normalcy.

Only the Lord knows how soon we may feel ‘normal’ again, but I can tell you the safest place to be is under the shelter of the wing of God!

“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me: for my soul trusts in You: yes, in the shadow of Your wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by.” Psalms 57:1 A Psalm of David

When you have time, I encourage everyone to read the full text of Psalms 57. It is remarkable! King David expressed his struggles and faith beautifully. Through his songs, we have a timeless example how to walk through life’s chaotic swings in authenticity and trust.

Before closing, I want to share a powerful video with you that I personally missed when it was published earlier this year. Maybe some of you have seen it. It is a discussion between Eric Metaxas and Jonathan Cahn courtesy of Dayspring.

Can I pause and say, if any of you are not watching/listening yet to Jonathan Cahn, I urge you to do so! For maybe a decade we’ve been listening to him. I genuinely believe he is a real, modern day Prophet of God to America!

If you read this blog enough, you know I’ve called Covid-19 a Biblical-style plague. Jonathan Cahn said the same in this video. He shares more evidence to back up why he believes it.

I only had dreams where God showed me the illness connected to frogs. But maybe that is reason we should think again before minimizing dreams. When the Holy Spirit tells us something through a dream or any other means, we should trust it. So long as we are pure in body and spirit and surrendered to Him, we can trust His messages to us.

Another thing Jonathan Cahn talks about a lot is the significance of America. I’ve said the same for many years. America is the 2nd nation in all of history, Israel being the first, founded as a nation dedicated to God from the beginning.

Well, I’ll leave you to the video. The first 45 minutes comprise the bulk of Jonathan Cahn’s portion. I urge you to take the time to watch. It is sobering but very important for the people of God to be aware.

God bless the family of God today. You are loved and He is with us, will never forsake us!

P.S. May I add a prayer request today? Someone we love is going through a personal struggle involving a baseless accusation from an outside source. We would deeply appreciate the support from faithful prayer warriors. Realizing whose identity in Scripture is “accuser”, we are clinging to Isaiah 54:17:

“No weapon formed against you will prosper; and every tongue that will rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of Me, says the LORD.”

Thank you to all joining us in prayer. May the Lord return the blessing back to you and your family!
