FAITH AND FASTING

In the wee hours of the morning on August 11, 2020, I was visited by an angel in a vision. Prior to now, I’ve only told two people: my husband the morning it happened, and one friend a week or two later. I could barely explain it to myself at the time, much less anyone else.

I’ll never forget what I saw. In the same fashion as every other vision, while laying awake in bed in the dark, suddenly the shadows of the room dissolved and another scene filled up the screen of my mind’s eye.

The Vision

It was an outdoor scene and the air was thick, the dim light of night reddish brown in color. As soon as this vision entered my awareness, I realized a being was hovering in front of me with his right arm outstretched to me. But, when my eyes focused, I saw he had already begun withdrawing his arm. It was as though he’d touched me before the vision started and I was witnessing the moment immediately afterward.

His hand was fully outstretched, fingers together, and by the position of his arm, I guessed he touched me around my upper right collarbone. But, the truth is, I’m not sure. Could have been anywhere from my upper chest to head.

In that first second or two, I saw his arm in close-up, clear focus. It was large, much larger than a human arm, 2-3 times the size, maybe more. It was strong and muscular, not like the exaggerated form of a body builder, but of a fit, athletic young adult. I recall seeing fine hair on the upper arm and forearm, and his skin was tan in color, or at least appeared so in the light.

With the sudden onset of this vision, seeing a large being’s arm reached out to me, I admit I started a bit and pulled back. But, after seeing his arm withdrawing, I calmed somewhat and my eyes were drawn to his face and torso.

His face was handsome with fine features. Two impressive wings were visible, fully outstretched to his sides, longer than he was tall. That his wings were not white in appearance stood out to me. In the dim light of the vision, his wings had a pale brownish cast. Perhaps had he been in bright sunlight, he would have had white wings, but this whole scene was shadowed in reddish brown light.

His clothes were also not white. In fact, they were similar to what a human might wear on a casual evening outdoors in the city. I remember his shirt was fitted close to his body, tan in color and short-sleeved. While I never looked directly at his legs, the image that remained imprinted in my mind was that he wore pants something like leather, much darker than the shirt.

He had very straight, wispy blonde hair, parted on the left of his head, and it was slightly longer on the right side, not flat to his head, but standing, or floating out maybe 2-3 inches. Most significant to me: there was no smile or look of ease on his face. He had the strained and sober look of being on a serious mission, perhaps one with danger. Frankly, the whole scene left an impression of someone on a dangerous assignment in the darkness of night.

Taking in everything I’d seen over several seconds, my first inner reaction was one of distrust. I’ve not seen and certainly have never been touched by an angel, to my knowledge. I did not know if this being was with God or against Him. John, in 1 John 4:1, taught, “trust not every spirit, but test whether they are of God…” So, I simply observed without trusting.

The scene ended as quickly as it began. I lay in the dark of my room wondering what on earth I had just witnessed, and whether or not it was an angelic visitation or the revelation of an attacking spirit. I prayed for understanding. The Lord seemed silent that night.

Looking back, I have to confess, had the being been glowing in light and smiling, in my human understanding I probably would have trusted instantly. But now, I wonder why? Demons are deceivers and Satan was an angel of light. They can imitate an appearance of innocence and goodness. Why do we so quickly trust things that look appealing without any further information?

That this being came in dark and shadowed light with sober intent written on his face made me less trusting. Yet, as you will soon see, I came to believe he was, indeed, an angel of God on a mission to anoint me for a specific spiritual assignment.

The next morning when I awoke, I went to the Bible to research all instances of an angel touching a human, to learn the potential purpose of my visitor. The only one that came up involving the touch of an angel was 1 Kings 19, the story of Elijah.

In summary, Elijah had just fought perhaps the biggest battle of his life against the prophets of Baal during the reign of King Ahab, who was married to Jezebel. After defeating 450 Baal’s prophets and killing them, Elijah received word from Jezebel that she wanted to kill him in vengeance.

In chapter 19, we find Elijah hiding under a juniper tree anguished and wishing for death. Then, an angel of God visits and touches Elijah and feeds him. The angel does this twice.

The angel’s purpose was to strengthen Elijah for a 40-day journey to Mount Horeb, the Mount of God, where he would anoint a new King over Israel, Jehu, and receive an apprentice prophet, Elisha. He was also reassured that there were still 7,000 in Israel who had never bowed to Baal.

Reviewing this story and reflecting on my visitor, I continued to pray for clarity. I wondered what, if any, parallels could be drawn.

Two things soon came to me that day. One, I felt peace that the angel was of God, not an enemy. Two, from the reading, what stood out to me was, the angel touched Elijah to strengthen him for a 40-day journey. I wondered what the 40 days ahead held for me.

After this, I frankly dropped any further research or wondering. I told my husband about it, then rested on the subject. As I said in the beginning of this article, I later told one friend, a friend I meet and pray with regularly. We couldn’t make sense of it either, so I talked of it with no one else.

Then, last night the Lord reminded me of the vision. I lay awake in bed and couldn’t stop thinking about the “40 day” theme in 1 Kings 19. I realized I had never looked at a calendar to see what day was 40 days from the date of my angelic visit. I didn’t even know if 40 days had passed, and if it had, wondered if perhaps God had given me a dream on that day which might explain something.

Unable to shake these pressing thoughts, I sat up in bed, looked at a calendar, and counted 40 days from August 11, landing upon September 20. Nothing. No dream, nothing.

Then, it hit me. The angel had visited me in the earliest hours of August 11, just after midnight closed out the day before, August 10. So, I needed to include August 11 as the first day in the count. I started over, reached the end of the 40 days, and everything changed! Suddenly, the meaning poured, gushed out.

Forty days from 12:00 AM on August 11, including August 11, landed me on September 19: ROSH HASHANAH, or Jewish New Year! I noted on one Jewish site, Rosh Hashanah is a day modern Jews celebrate Creation.

Further, God HAD spoken to me in a profound and powerful way on September 19. Ruth Bader Ginsburg had just died the night before! God gave me a dream that very night, and I blogged about it right away: Dream: Path to Sanctity of Life Just Made Easier.

Just as Elijah received reinforcements 40 days after his touch by an angel, I came to YOU for reinforcements on day 40! In that article on Sept 19, Rosh Hashanah, I shared with the readers that the Lord had opened my eyes that His goal in America is not just to re-elect President Trump. It is to knock down abortion – the modern-day sacrifice of innocent babies in gruesome parallel to the ancient infanticide of Baal worship! Through prayer at the end of the article, I asked the readers to join me in agreement with the Lord for this goal.

Now let’s go back and talk about Elijah for a moment. After the angel visited him and sent him to Mount Horeb for reinforcements, God told him to anoint Jehu the new King over Israel.

Have any of you read Jonathan Cahn’s book, The Paradigm? If not, I urge you to at least go watch a YouTube video of him talking about it. I will try to summarize here as best I can for impact.

The Paradigm was a revelation given to Messianic Rabbi/Pastor Jonathan Cahn in which he realized our modern day American Presidents from the past three decades are mystically paralleling specific Kings of ancient Israel. In perfect succession, in the tone and tenets of their reigns, even down to details such as lengths of political power, and much more, this information will shock and amaze you. I cannot emphasize enough the jaw-dropping impact of this book.

This paradigm or template revealed by Pastor Cahn of ancient Israel for America’s leaders began with President Clinton and ancient King AHAB. And, yes, you guessed who Jezebel parallels.

I’ll only say one thing on that subject. No one in Israel had promoted Baal worship to the extent Jezebel did. And no leader in America so promoted abortion as Hillary Clinton did, even beyond her husband.

So, let’s cut to it, guess who President Trump parallels? JEHU. The very King Elijah was sent to anoint to return Israel to the path of God! The King who would ultimately defeat Jezebel and further take down the remnants of Baal worship!

Friends, just as the light surrounding the angel who visited me was reddish-brownish, America is dripping in blood guilt for the more than 60 million babies aborted since Roe v. Wade. While this cannot be undone, we can repent, pray and fast to change the future and restore our land!

Now that the Lord has revealed more of the meaning and purpose of this unique vision and angelic visit, I want to pray again, if you will join me. Through prayer, let us agree with the Lord in the spirit of Elijah.

Just as he anointed Jehu, I want us to agree that President Trump IS God’s choice to continue as President of the United States for the next four years. And most significantly of all, agree that America, through Trump’s leadership and others following the will of God, MUST take down, remove and destroy abortion from the face of our land as much as divinely possible!

Before the Lord and you today, I seek to fulfill this mission through proclamation, prayer and fasting. We at Faith and Fasting already plan to fast from sundown on October 31 through sundown, November 3, for the election. Including this new direction, let’s fast and pray not only for the election of God’s chosen leader(s) for such a time as this, but for abortion to be challenged and pulled down everywhere possible.

I told you earlier many Jews celebrate creation on Rosh Hashanah. I believe our Creator God desires us to value human life more than any other desirable thing on earth. Not the least of which includes the life of His Son, acknowledging He did not withhold His life, He gave it in exchange for our souls. To receive this gift, all we have to do is believe and trust Him.

With this assignment given and accepted, let’s unite to move mightily in the spirit against the Hell on earth that is abortion. Will you take up the sword of the Spirit and join me?

And I will utter my judgments against them because of all their wickedness (sickness, mischief), who have failed me, and have put other gods before Me, and worshipped the works of their own hands. You therefore stand, and arise, and speak to them all that I command you: be not dismayed at their angry countenance, lest I dismay you before them. For, behold, I have made you this day a defenced (strong and fortified) city, and as an iron pillar, and as brasen (brass, steel) walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, the princes, the priests, and against the people of the land.
And they shall fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you; for I [am] with you, says the LORD, to deliver you.
Jeremiah 1:16-19

Father God, Your tender heart is precious and You are pure and worthy of praise and adoration! We surrender and invite Your Spirit to fill us now. Give us Your armor, from head to toe, preparing and guarding us for this spiritual battle.

God, we repent! Forgive us for failing to cherish and defend innocent human life. Forgive us for being negligent and silent, for letting this crime against You the Creator, and humanity, go ignored, unchallenged.

Lord, we see Your call, agree, and unite to once again anoint President Trump as Your choice for America! Renew Your mantle upon him and let nothing on earth or from Hell remove him from the role You have called him to fulfill! Strengthen Your hold on all other branches in support of President Trump and to aid in fulfillment of his mission!

Jesus, strengthen us together, Your people, as we declare now that we agree with Your goal of taking down the abominable practice of abortion everywhere it is championed in America. Loose all of Heaven to battle Hell’s minions in defeating this wicked industry. Lord, rebuke and bind the demons that defend it, send them back to the pit, and knock abortion down, push it back, in every way possible in Your land, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Use us, Lord, to strengthen Your plan through prayer and fasting, to see Your heart satisfied in America on the protection of innocent life. Defend us against fear and doubt, and go before and all around us as we battle for You.

We dedicate ourselves to You, use our voices, hands and feet to do Your will. For Jesus, and by His power, we ask all these things. For Your glory! Amen.

[Sep/2022 Update: On Friday, June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court of the United States, strengthened by three conservative, pro-life appointments by President Trump, overturned Roe v. Wade, the decision which originally made abortion a constitutional right in the U.S. on January 22, 1973. THIS was the Lord’s goal all along! Not necessarily the reelection of Trump, but the fulfillment of his calling to bolster the SC and challenge abortion.
