Friends, readers, Faith and Fasting is putting out a call to all followers of Christ. A call to not just pray for our nation, but to also fast. If ever there was a time to apply the Lord’s secret weapon to defeat a particularly entrenched evil, it is now.
FAF intends to fast 24 hours a month for a year, minimum, beginning 6 PM, Aug 31 to 6 PM, Sep 1 (24 hours), and to post Scripture and prayers each month to walk through a journey of cleansing, calling on the Lord, and confronting the stronghold powers of hell in America.
We are delighted to announce that our church congregation is going to join us to do the same! Our pastor will lead a group of prayer warriors who will commit to fasting 24 hours a month and meeting together to pray for the U.S. Will YOU join us in spirit here at FAF?
The truth is, we do NOT know what the Lord can do through prayer and fasting. Or, wait, maybe we do.
In 2020, FAF put out a call to pray and fast against abortion the day after Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. Two years later the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
Also in 2020, (privately) through social media, we put out a call to pray and fast specifically for freedom of speech. Two years later, Elon Musk bought Twitter. Freedom of speech has been restored there in a big way!
Further back, in both 2018 and 2019, FAF asked believers to pray for a revival movement in American colleges and universities. If you’ve followed the Christian news in the last year, unique, Spirit-outpouring movements of God have begun in at least two or three universities to date!
We should not put limits on what the Lord can do when His people, “humble themselves, repent, and seek His face”, especially when we add Jesus’ ultimate spiritual weapon: fasting! Corporate movements have spread in recent years to pray for America, and we are also waking up to the power of fasting. God is watching! He is moving! When we unite, are pure before Him, and fast and pray, we are unstoppable!

Precious Father, we bless Your name forever! Forgive us for all the ways we have partnered, ignorantly or willfully, with the plans of Hell. Cleanse us from all of this unrighteousness. You are all-powerful, nothing stands in Your way when Your people purely call on You, set ourselves aside to seek Your will accomplished on earth as it is in Heaven. Thank You, thank You, thank You for the victories in America You’ve granted through the prayer and fasting of Your people! May we grow in faith, strength, and determination to move forward together as a might army of God. Fill us this day with Your Spirit and guide every thought, feeling and action. Flood each of us with the knowledge of Your love for us. Fill us with all the Spirit brings to our temples: truth, peace, freedom, and more. For Your glory and in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus! Amen.
